MEXICO City Two inmates had been killed and 13 hurt for the duration of a prison riot in northern Mexico, the governing administration of the state of Nuevo Leon claimed on Tuesday, the 2nd lethal security breach within just a week in the country’s troubled prison system.
The deaths happened in the Cadereyta penitentiary in the vicinity of the town of Monterrey following about fifty inmates attacked the prison’s pharmacy and set fire to cells, the governing administration claimed.
It was the 2nd consecutive day of violence there. On Monday, two guards and 5 prisoners had been harm following inmates blocked corridors in the facility with burning mattresses.
On Friday, a few inmates died in a prison riot in the neighboring state of Tamaulipas following a jailbreak.
In February 2016, 49 men and women had been killed in a huge gang fight in the Topo Chico prison in Monterrey.
