TUNIS Tunisia’s authorities has summoned the British ambassador to protest in opposition to a final decision to prohibit carry-on digital products on flights from Tunisia, the International Ministry stated on Friday.
Britain has declared that from Saturday it will ban travellers from carrying some phones, laptops and tablets on flights from six nations in the Center East together with Tunisia.
Tunisia’s International Ministry stated in a statement that the British final decision was “unjustified” and did not reflect an enhanced safety condition in Tunisia.
“Tunisia is stunned by this final decision, which was taken without the need of session with the Tunisian authorities or informing them in advance,” the statement stated.
Tunisia has been functioning to include a menace from Islamist militants following 3 significant assaults claimed by Islamic Point out in 2015, together with two focusing on international visitors.
The United States imposed similar restrictions on planes coming from 10 airports in Muslim-majority nations in the Center East and North Africa in response to unspecified safety threats. The U.S. restrictions did not include Tunisia.
