ADEN A suicide bomber killed at the very least five troopers in an attack on a military services camp in Yemen’s southern metropolis of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan province, at dawn on Friday, a neighborhood formal and inhabitants said.
The bomber, who was putting on a military services uniform, drove a car or truck that exploded at the entrance of the camp.
Citizens said they listened to a loud explosion at dawn in the metropolis.
The bomber is suspected to be an al Qaeda member, the neighborhood formal said.
Equivalent attacks have taken place in the past couple of months with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) a suspect in concentrating on military services posts.
Yemen has been embroiled in civil war since March 2015 in between the internationally regarded authorities of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, backed by a Saudi-led Arab coalition, and Iran-allied Houthis.
