MOSCOW The Kremlin feels careful optimism about the prospects for an enhancement in U.S.-Russian relations immediately after Russian International Minister Sergei Lavrov satisfied U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, a Kremlin spokesman reported on Thursday.
“The dialogue alone is incredibly favourable,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported on a convention phone with reporters, referring to Lavrov’s meeting with Trump on Wednesday.
Peskov reported the Kremlin viewed the prospects of a thaw “with careful optimism.”
“We have a good deal of perform ahead of us,” he reported.
