BRUSSELS The chairman of EU summits claimed on Thursday talks with Britain over its divorce from the European Union were already “complicated sufficient” and would come to be “impossible” if the negotiations were clouded by emotions.
“Brexit talks complicated sufficient. If emotions get out of hand, they’re going to come to be impossible. Discretion, moderation and mutual respect needed,” European Council president Donald Tusk claimed in a tweet.
His remarks followed British Prime Minister Theresa May’s accusation on Wednesday that European politicians and officials were in search of to influence the British snap elections on June 8.
