BRUSSELS A man who sped a vehicle down a pedestrian procuring road in Antwerp has been billed with tried terrorist murder, Belgium’s federal prosecutors explained on Friday.
No 1 was wounded in the incident, but authorities explained pedestrians had to bounce out of the way and police identified knives in the vehicle of 39-calendar year-outdated Mohamed R., a French resident of North African origin.
He has also been billed with illegal possession of weapons.
French police resources had explained to Reuters it was possible the suspect had not been making an attempt to hit any person, but was likely drunk and making an attempt to escape a police check.
Belgian media explained police identified the suspect asleep in his vehicle immediately after chasing him by way of town and he was far too intoxicated to be listened to about the incident.
Belgium’s federal prosecutors did not give any more facts about the circumstance.
